Wi-Fi is the new wireless connection standard for computers and handheld devices. This allows you to walk into a business and connect to the internet, surf the web, or download your email with your laptop or handheld. All that is required is that you have a wireless access card or wireless built into your laptop or handheld. Many businesses such as coffee houses, hotels and restaurants are starting to offer this service to get you to spend a little extra time at their place of business. Some offer this service free (open Wi-Fi) or some require that you belong to a service such as T-Mobile® or Verizon®.
